Clarity Renews Partnership with WWT

Clarity is delighted to announce that it has renewed its partnership with WWT.

Underscoring our mission to make a difference to the world and all who occupy it: helping improve lives, protect nature and make the environment around us a better place to live. We are proud to renew our partnership with one the UK’s foremost environmental charities whom we have now supported since 2021. For over 7 decades WWT has been on a mission to protect, restore and enhance critically endangered wetland habitats whilst also looking to connect and engage communities with these vital ecosystems.

Clarity Cares Insights

Over the last 300 years, a staggering 87% of the world’s wetlands have been lost. During this time, hundreds of thousands of hectares have been drained to provide land for housing, industry and agriculture.

In 2023, WWT underwent a brand update while it also released its targets for 2030. Whilst it’s long-term objectives to restore wetlands areas; to inspire people to value and act for wetlands and to thrive as a sustainable and effective organisation remain unchanged, the new “Wetlands are the Way” strategy outlines clear targets for 2030:

  • Have created and restored over 20,000 hectares of wetlands.
  • Have established at least three self-sustaining populations of wetlands species through conservation activity that also drives wetland creation and restoration.
  • Have increased the wetlands we manage to over 9,000 hectares (from 6,900) and ensure all sites burst with life.
  • Be working with local communities to identify and reduce pressures faced by our most important wetlands in global hotspots*
  • Be mobilising on the ground networks to drive wetland conservation action at a local level in global hotspots *
