So, when we receive feedback from the charities we’re involved with, such as our puppy sponsorship through Veterans With Dogs, we’re keen to share how these incredible organisations can help change lives.
Clarity has been supporting Veterans With Dogs for three years, and our sponsored dog, Clara, has now graduated from her Partner Animal Life Skills (PALS) Puppy Programme and been homed with a veteran. Over the years, Veterans With Dogs sent frequent updates of Clara’s progress, but the final report detailing the impact this remarkable dog has had on the veteran and his family made us especially proud.
Clara’s new family of six have described her as an incredibly patient and gentle dog, even winning the trust of the youngest child, who was previously wary of dogs. The veteran himself has been able to return to work with renewed confidence thanks to Clara’s calm presence, which proves invaluable for navigating the hectic pace of public transport in London. Beyond this, Clara is uniquely trained to notice signs of stress in her veteran, and will nudge him towards mindful breaks when needed.
