Clarity Staff Support Woodingdean Food Hub with Essential Supplies

At Clarity Environmental, we believe in the power of community and in doing our part to support people in need. This commitment is at the heart of Clarity Cares, our company-wide initiative that empowers staff to give back and contribute to our wider mission: to improve lives, protect nature, and make the world around us a better place to live.

Throughout May, our team rallied together to help tackle food insecurity by collecting and donating essential items to the Woodingdean Food Hub, a vital community initiative based near our Brighton head office.

Thanks to the generosity of staff across the business, we donated three large boxes filled with staple food items, including pasta, rice, tinned goods, and long-life essentials. It’s estimated that the donation will help create over 200 meals – enough to feed a family of four for more than two weeks. At a time when many households are struggling with the rising cost of living, this contribution offers real, tangible support to those who need it most.

The donations were delivered directly to the Hub, which plays a critical role in supporting individuals and families experiencing food poverty in the local area. Users of the service pay just £3.50 a week to choose from around 15 food and household items –  a selection designed to help supplement meals for a family of four for up to three days. The Hub relies entirely on donations and community support to keep this vital service running.

On receiving the donation, Philippa Parsons, Director, Woodingdean Food CIC, commented: “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to the food bank collection – your generosity will make a real difference to families in need right here in Woodingdean. Your kindness helps ensure that residents facing difficult times won’t go without the essentials. It’s a powerful reminder of the strength of our community spirit.”

Clarity was so inspired by the incredible work of the Woodingdean Food Hub that we’ve committed to supporting them on an ongoing basis. We’ve now arranged for a permanent donation box to be installed at our offices, allowing staff to contribute essential items regularly. Donations will be delivered to the Hub as and when needed, helping to maintain a steady supply of food and household essentials for local families.

“We’re incredibly proud of our team for their continuous commitment to projects like this and their remarkable passion for making a difference to the community, living our values and mission,” added Vikkie Fitzgerald, from Clarity’s People and Culture team. “It’s a small act that can have a big impact – and a reminder that even in busy times, we can all find a moment to support those around us.”
